The dreamy wedding

Imagine disney land made weddings. That's it. Thats exactly what our wedding looked like.

An outdoor, beach wedding in September with beautiful weather while the sun was still shinning bright and 500 guests roaming around the venue admiring your beautiful setup.

I am not a flowers girl, so i refused to have any in the decorations, instead I went with3 different designs for the centerpieces. The snow white design had a gold plated apple in a bronze basket with baby breath fake flowers for decorations. The beauty and the beast design has a covered single standing red rose with a bunch of fake rose gold books. And the cinderella design had a silver carriage with more baby breath fake flowers to beautify it.

The venue was designed with street lamps and the entrance had a very large carriage for pictures. There was a ready built stage which was designed with a huge castle cardboard on the background and the beach behind it was just mind blowing. We had 2 castle like royal chairs for us to sit in during pictre time and when we danced it was magical.

As guests entered they passed a table with a signature book for people to say something sweet to us and wish us luck and a bunch of fun things like sunglasses and LED hats for partyng when it gets dark.  Could you picture how glamorous it was?

While the sun was still so bright in the sky and the color of the beach was mesmerizing blue, the groom stood facing the water and his groomsmen facing the bride as I walked in for the first look. He turned to me and said "Hayyyy' and hugged me. We commenced with a beautiful photoshoot and had some funny photos with the groomsmen and bridesmaids. Now it was time to go to the venue.

The groom strolled in on a horse back that was trained to perform a little gallop dance and I, the bride, came in on a forse pulled carriage with my father. Well, that was the plan but to be honest the horse was not in a good mood and refused to pull it so the horse rider decided to pull the carriage in him self to save the day. Thank you horse rider! But the funniest thing while My carriage was still in hiding waiting for my turn to do my big entrance. The edgy horse was making some trouble while the man was pulling my carriage and the man kept telling his colleague to take the horse away from him to avoid drama, but the horse was refusing to be tamed, Suddenly I saw the horse go to the man, kick him away where my carriage was dropped dramatically and the man flew into the car parked next to him. I attepted to jump out to help him but my dress was too heavy and thats when I heard a laugh and "I told you to keep him away from me" and we all laughed so hard and he was fine.

I did my magical entrance and when we got off the carriage, my father, holding my hand, said "slow down, the groom isn't going anywhere" and laughed.

My beautifully colored bridesmaids where standing there aligned on the left and right as I walked in with their matching umbrellas and opened one at a time as I passed them. I had dressed my girls in a different color each, tailored to her, but the dresses were matching. There was yellow, red, green, blue, pink and purple. Each of them had a matching flower designed ring and I had my orange ring on as well. They were all so beautiful and flourishing.

We then had our traditional musical entrance with dancers and performers. This is called a 'zaffa'. It's a traditional celebration and welcome to a wedding done in most Arab countries.

Then the party started as a sun was setting. We danced with the guests until the sun went down. and then had our first dance. We had been practicing a choreographed dance on "A whole new world" and the wind and my long tailed puffy dress just completed the dance perfectly with the view of the castle behind us.

After that he danced with his mother and i danced with my father and then we commenced the wedding.

In Arab weddings we do not do speeches, we just dance, eat and dance more until our feet go numb. And thats exactly what we did. We danced so hard and even had a little choreographed dance with our bridesmaids and groomsmen. We even had a surprise for our guests with a famous Egyptian singer to perform in our wedding followed by an amazingly talented violinist who played with dancy music and wouldn't let anyone sit down or rest their feet.

Our 500 guests had flown in from 11 different countries to send this magical evening with us and truly made it a special day for us. We even had a wedding website with all the details about the wedding, the venue, the city, touristic places to visit, where to stay, ways to transport and more. It had a humorous touch to it and we had funny pictures taken of us photographed with relevant backgrounds to give people a laugh. It took me a good 5 months to finalize the website, so it had better be good!

Normally, the bride and groom would wave to their guests goodbye when the wedding ends to start their new lives and the guests where welcome to continue to chill there as they pleased. But in our case, the guests were getting tired and we were still partying like there was no tomorrow. We ended up being the last to leave, but it was worth it.

Let me clarify somthing, as arabs and muslims, it is against our traditions to live together before getting married, which meant this would be the first night we share a room, a bed and a house, Hence, our excitement level was over the roof.

The night ended with lots of smiling faces andso many messages saying "This was the best wedding we have ever attended and you guys are the best".

7 years later I still hear "Your wedding was still the best wedding we've ever seen".

Sorry to dissappoint guys but today all I think to myself is "It wasn't worth it" and "It's not a memory I want to have anymore".

Now what?
